CHARLESTON — Representatives of any organization interested in becoming a 501(c)3 non-profit are invited to attend a presentation by the West Virginia Secretary of State’s office on Wednesday, February 8.
A representative of Secretary Mac Warner will lead an introduction into how a non-profit is formed.
The workshop, to be held at the Main Library in Charleston at 2 p.m., Wednesday, will focus on non-profits, charitable organizations, how to file with the SOS office and how to apply to the IRS.
Warner said non-profit status may make “your organization eligible for grants, make your organization eligible for contributions and donations that are tax-deductible to the donor, give your organization IRS-recognized legitimacy, and exemption from federal income taxes, in addition to other benefits”
