Here’s the text of Senator Shelley Moore Capito’s weekly address to the citizens of West Virginia:
This week I wrote an op-ed for the Charleston Gazette-Mail that outlines my commonsense replacement plan for Obamacare.
It’s called The Patient Freedom Act and it removes Obamacare’s most burdensome regulations and costly penalties, while keeping in place the essential consumer protections like maintaining coverage for pre-existing conditions, and allowing young adults to stay on their parents’ health plans until age 26.
This solution for fixing our broken health care system is driven by you – the patient – not by bureaucrats in Washington.
Visit www.capito.senate.gov to read my op-ed, and learn how this plan will help meet the health care needs of West Virginia.
On Thursday, I joined President Trump and a bipartisan group of Senators at the White House to discuss Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch.
Judge Gorsuch is an extremely qualified, mainstream judge, who always puts the law and the Constitution first.
The president made an excellent choice, and I appreciated the opportunity to speak with him about Judge Gorsuch and about his America-first agenda.
Have a great weekend!
