CHARLESTON – A local educator has been named to the board of governors of the Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College.
Governor Jim Justice announced today that he had appointed Latisha “Tish” Marcum of Williamson to the spot left vacant by Kevin Fowler, who resigned. Marcum, wife of House of Delegates member Justin Marcum, is also assistant principal at Logan High School. Prior to her service at LHS, she was a counselor at Mingo Central High School in Newtown.
“We are excited that Latisha Marcum will become part of the governing body for SWVCTC,” Justice said in making the appointment announcement.
Marcum said she was “honored” by the confidence the governor placed in her. Her board term extends until June 30, 2018. She represents the Sixth Senatorial District, according to the governor.
Her husband represents Mingo and a portion of Logan County in the state legislature. He is also a practicing attorney in Williamson.
Latisha Marcum earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology at West Virginia University. She has a master’s in special education from Marshall.
