Ms. Cathy Moore
Principal
Chapmanville Regional High School
Chapmanville, West Virginia
Dear Ms. Moore:
Attached you will find a two-page document provided to this newspaper by the office of the Logan County Clerk.
The papers are a follow-up to an earlier conversation I had with you regarding the possible improper use of school equipment. It appears, as you will see, that the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request filed by Richard Ojeda was sent to the Logan County Clerk using CRHS equipment. If would further appear that the transmission occurred during regular school hours on a day when Mr. Ojeda should have reasonably been expected to be carrying out his job duties with the Logan County Board of Education.
You can consider this letter in whatever form is appropriate. If it is simply for your informational purposes, please advise me how to request a formal inquiry into Mr. Ojeda’s use of school property for personal purposes. If this is sufficient to request a formal investigation, please consider it as a request to do so.
As I have said many times, I have the ultimate respect for you and am a major supporter of CRHS. Nothing herein is meant to suggest that I think there is any wrongdoing on the part of the school itself or its administration.
Thank you for your consideration and “go Tigers” in the state tournament.
Sincerely,
Ron Gregory
Editor
