Charleston — West Virginia’s fallen law enforcement officers will be honored during a Thursday, May 31 ceremony at the Culture Center on the state capitol complex in Charleston.
The public is being invited to attend the memorial, which will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the Culture Center’s Grand Hall. A multi-agency honor guard will then lead a procession to lay a wreath at the state law enforcement Fallen Partner Memorial at the Culture Center plaza.
Scheduled speakers include U.S. Attorney Michael Stuart of the Southern District of West Virginia, and Military Affairs and Public Safety Secretary Jeff Sandy.
The service will honor the 210 West Virginia law enforcement officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in protecting the citizens of West Virginia. There has also been one K-9 death in service to the state.
