Board, Magistrate endorsements
Three positions will be filled on the Cabell County School Board in the non-partisan portion of the primary ballot.
We recommend two of the candidates and leave it to voters to decide who else is worthy.
Thus, we support Jenny Anderson and Alyssa Bond as progressive, innovative leaders who want the best for Cabell children and youth.
In another non-partisan section of the ballot, Cabell voters will choose seven magistrates. In Division 1, incumbent Chris Sperry is unopposed and deserves your support. In Division 2, incumbent Mike Woelfel deserves another term.
Incumbent Danne Vance is unopposed in Division 3. There are four candidates in Division 4 but can war hero Woody Williams be wrong? We recommend former Cabell Sheriff and Huntington Mayor Kim Wolfe and so does Williams.
Incumbent Dan Ferguson is unopposed in Division 5 as is incumbent Dan Goheen in 7. We support both.
In Division 6, our choice is incumbent Mike McCarthy.
Based on our experience and study of candidate backgrounds, we believe these are the best non-partisan choices for Cabell voters on June 9.
