Matewan — The West Virginia Mine Wars Museum to set to receive a significant historical piece later this month.
At about 3 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, Mountain Party gubernatorial candidate Danny Lutz will be among those loading sections of a jail cell from the old Jefferson County Jail onto David Tabb’s trailer.
The following day, August 21, Tabb and Lutz will transport the sections across the state to the Mine Wars Museum in Matewan.
Lutz explained, “Mr. Tabb, the West Virginia Mountain Party, the Eastern Panhandle Central Labor Council, Mr. Doug Estepp and I are doing this as a gesture to the people of West Virginia, and to help preserve our heritage.”
The West Virginia Mine Wars’ Museum plans to have its initial opening on Labor Day Weekend, Lutz added.
