Huntington – A 24-year-old Louisville, Kentucky man was arrested Thursday, August 27, following a shooting in Huntington’s West End, according to Police Chief Ray Cornwell.
Adrian White was charged with two counts of malicious wounding. He also had an outstanding warrant for felony possession with intent to distribute.
Officers were called to the 800 block of Bronson Court for a reported shooting at approximately 10:30 a.m., today. Upon arrival, the officers found Larry Arnold, 43, and Sandy Haeberlin, 30, both having been shot.
The officers secured the scene so EMS paramedics could render aid to the victims. The victims also provided a suspect description before they were taken to a local hospital.
As more officers arrived in the area, an individual matching the suspect’s description was spotted in the 1200 block of Monroe Avenue and pursued on foot before running inside a residence.
Officers surrounded the residence, secured the area and began calling for the suspect to come out of the residence. Two individuals eventually came out and were taken to the Huntington Police Department headquarters for questioning.
Officers from the West Virginia State Police, Barboursville Police Department, U.S. Marshals CUFFED Task Force and the Violent Crime and Drug Task Force West also assisted at the scene.
As the investigation progressed, investigators learned of a possible location of a third suspect. Officers returned to a location just west of the first residence, where they encountered White and took him into custody without incident. The investigation remains ongoing.
