Grady named to committee
by Ron Gregory
Charleston — Senator Amy Grady, a newly-elected Republican from the Fourth District, has been named vice chairman of the Health and Human Resources Committee.
The announcement was made by Senate President- designate Craig Blair, a Berkeley County Republican.
Grady has been referred to as a “rising star” in the legislature after defeating Senate President Mitch Carmichael in the GOP primary and going on to swamp her Democrat opponent in November.
Blair commended Grady in naming her to the vice chair position. “Senator Grady is one of our new members who is ready to hit the ground and start running. She brings a wealth of experience from her time as a classroom teacher to the Senate and I am looking forward to seeing the great things she will accomplish.”
Grady will also serve on the Education, Judiciary, Military, Agriculture and Rural Development and Natural Resources committees.
