Stollings on bus tour

Charleston – In the new style of campaigning in small groups and staying six-feet apart, Democrat Gubernatorial candidate Dr. Ron Stollings, is mixing old-style politics with new technology.
The Boone County state senator and practicing physician will be campaigning in the Charleston-Huntington area on Saturday, May 2 in a classic Trailways bus adorned with signs promoting his candidacy. His “whistle stop” tour won’t be met with large crowds, but Facebook Live audiences along the way, according to an announcement.
Stollings will stop at six locations between the two cities. At each stop, Stollings will deliver a Facebook Live speech, addressing issues important to voters in each area.
“These are unprecedented times,” said Stollings. “And they call for unprecedented ways to reach out to voters.”
He added, “We’ve been doing Facebook Live events during the past two months, talking to people about the coronavirus and other important issues facing the state, but the bus allows us to go into communities throughout the state and tell voters we care about their issues.”
Charleston – State Capitol – 10 a.m.; South Charleston – The Mound – 11 a.m.; St. Albans – Roadside Park – 12 Noon; Winfield – Courthouse – 1 p.m.; Barboursville – Huntington Mall outside Michael’s Store – 2 p.m.; and Huntington – Marshall University – 3:30 p.m.
